After my grandmother has surgery....

I plan to "revive" this blog. Friday nights from 6pm-12am is our Friday Night Stitch-a-thon. If you plan to continue with us, please let me know as I will be removing inactive members and bringing in those that would like to take part-If you were removed in error or after this notice was posted and now wish to continue with the group-please contact me. I kind of got away from this blog because I had some complaints about people not receiving comments on what they share...I can't force people to comment on what you share, it's nice if they do, but I myself know how time consuming it can be to comment on blogs and all posts. I am sorry some of your feelings were hurt when you shared and you received no comments-Please don't take it personally. It doesn't mean you are "liked" or not "liked"...I am sure it is just a matter of "time" becoming an issue with many of us.

Until my grandmothers surgery is over and she is on the mend (or out of the woods-so to speak) I may not be around as much as I would like to be....but I will check in as much as I can. She has a consultation appointment this coming Saturday (17th) to set things up for her heart surgery. I will know more after Saturday! I would appreciate good thoughts and prayers for her-she is ONE SPECIAL LADY :)

SOOOOOO, who is in for Friday Night SAT for 10-16-09??? I am not going to post names in the sidebar or anything like that as it is SO very time consuming-but if you could please let me know by leaving a comment here on this post I would appreciate it-so I'll know how much activity we will have and who would like to stay with us :)

Thanks :)

After 11-6 SAT

Here is what I accomplished on Beatrix Potter during Friday's SAT. I almost finished this motif! Sorry for the delay in posting, but we had a beautiful weekend and I spent most of it doing outside chores. My body is not used to so many outside chores! Hope everyone has a great week and I'll see you this Friday!

Maxine's Paradigm Lost Update

I was able to sit down on time for the SAT and got loads done....no frogs visited either so I was on a roll :) Here's my before pic...

And here's the after pic...

I got more of the border done another fairly big motif and a few smaller ones. Thanks for reading and commenting :)

Nov 6 SAT--after

You'll notice that there's on after photo here--that's because (sadly) I didn't get to do any stitching on Friday night! DH and I had gone on a mini-pilgrimage and when we returned home 'life' just got in the way of stitching!

But everyone's work looks great! I should be back this Friday...

After SAL 11-6 Happy Dancing

Well, finally got my Well, pictures taken. Here is my after on my Friday night stitching.
I actually had a finish!!!!!! My Stitcher Sampler from Oakhaven Designs is done. I finished the last part in the lower right corner.

The two canvas pieces I worked on and finished the last couple of months. I want to do this in 2 more colorways. They are so pretty!!! They are all going to have the same frames and hang in one corner of the wall.

Wish I could figure out how to get the pictures where I want them!

11/6 SAL Progress and a Happy Dance

Last night I started Scatter Snowflakes by Shepherd's Bush. It's stitched on 19 count Cork Summer Khaki with the recommended Crescent Colors and Weeks Dye Works threads.

I also have a (wrinkled :) finish to share. Happy Easter to Ewe by Mosey 'n Me was my SAL project on 10/30 and I finished it Sunday night. It was a fun one to stitch!

11-6 SAL After

The NovaLee Christmas Noel SAL part eight is what I worked on.  Didn't finish, but got a good deal done.  I enjoy seeing the before and after pics together, so here they are!

So, this will be my first night joining along with your Friday night SAL. Tonight I'm working on Lavendar & Lace Angel of Grace. She's stitched on 18ct Bay Leaf Aida. I have since started stitching on evenweave, and I find it much more difficult to stitch on Aida, as I've gotten used to evenweave. So here's where I am now. I'll be starting to stitch in the next 15-20 minutes and will probably be doing it off and on until 11pm or so. I'm going to be sneaking in a bath during that time also.

Thanks so much for letting me join in. Can't wait to see all the pictures.

11/6 Friday Night SAL

Happy Friday fellow stitchers! I'll be joining you tonight for the SAL but at this point I'm not sure what I'm stitching. I have several new starts waiting to be started so it will definitely be a new project. I'll post a progress pic tomorrow, along with my finish of Happy Easter to Ewe, last Friday night's SAL project that I finished on Saturday.

Happy stitching everyone!

Stitching tonight

I'll be stitching tonight...here is what i'll be working on. Have not worked on it since the last time I posted a picture of it.

SAT 6-11

My before pic is the same as the after pic last week. I didn't have time to stitch on this. Hurray for the SATs, that way I am sure I'm going to stitch on Holland Springtime at least once a week LOL

11/6 Before Noel

I’m continuing to stitch on the NovaLee Christmas Noel SAL, using DMC on Vikki Clayton’s 35ct linen in off white.  Eight parts have been issued, and I’ve  almost finishedthrough part seven – hope to get through eight tonight!  Hope you all meet your goals, too – Happy Stitching!!

11/6 SAT before

Here's my before for November 6th. I've got to decide whether to stitch the initials and the date this week, or if I'm going to save those for the end and move onto the next vertical band...decisions, decisions, decisions...

A decision

I will be working on block 2 of Houses this SAT.

Here it is as it now stands. Sad little start on block 2, but I hope to get a nice chunk done Friday.

10-30 SAT After and More

This is from last night plus today. I only had about an hour last night and just filled in the yellow part of the bottome flowers in the diamond shape and got a start on the little multicolored one. Today I finished the multicolored one and started on the next floral one. It is wonderful to see more people joining in and posting again!

After Oct 30

I got a few hours in last night and got the blue motif just about half done

SAT October 30th After pic

Yesterday I joined the SAT and Iwas visited by frogs frequently, it looks like the whole living was taken over ;) Yet I'm rather satisfied of my progress. There is a lof of beading in this design and I think I save that for later to make it easier to stitch.

Here’s the update to the NovaLee Christmas Noel that I stitched last night. It's coming along... hopefully to be up to date before the next part is available.

10-30 SAT

I turned into turbo stitcher and finished this modified piece Wednesday night. It was meant to be a present and will be, but won't be ready in time. I am so bad about making big plans in my head but not having enough time to complete them the way I would like. I'll finish it this weekend and pass it on to its new home Monday. Oh well. I tried, but after 2 really late nights I chose not to start the finishing at 11:45 pm. Disaster would have surely followed. This is from Blue Ribbons Designs Afraid of the Dark, the pinkeep small, modified. I used 28 ct Shale from PTP and the recommended DMC.

I may not get to join this evening. My sister & I host a stitch get together the last Saturday of the month. We are starting earlier and ending earlier because of Halloween and trick-or-treaters. I am preparing some things for lunch and haven't even been to the grocery yet! If time allows I'll stitch on Beatrix Potter. If not, I'll show what progress I make after stitching on Saturday.

Happy Halloween and Happy Stitching!

Thanks for reading and lovely work done ladies (I try to comment on as many as I can but obviously can't manage everyones or i'd never get any stitching done lol)

WINNER of the Christmas Ornament...

Sorry to be late in posting-I had to wait until my DD was available to draw a name :)
She drew Miss Cindy's name :) Cindy, if you can send me your mailing info-I will mail your ornament on Wednesday :)

I have enjoyed seeing everyone's progress :) I'll post later in the week for the NEXT SAT on Friday night....YES, there WILL be an incentive :)

love and hugs to ya:)

Ornament as incentive for 10-23-09 SAT :)

I know some of you may not need an incentive to stitch....but my Motto (I was a Girl Scout Leader for over 15 years...so I have a motto..LOL!-OK, so it's in my own mind...and not a published motto :) LOL!) is "if you offer it they will come"...you know, kind of like, If you build it they will come...from Field of Dreams :) :) :) I ENJOY hosting stitching activities for those that wish to join in the fun-I HOPE to encourage stitching so that the art never dies. I aspire to bring in the younger generation to stitch....so any way I can "lure" them in I do so :)
I found time today to do the finishing on the ornament I was offering :) This one has been waiting for the perfect finish and new home :)
This ornament is offered as an incentive to all those that stitch with us tonight and post a before and after pic per the "flexible guidelines of Let's Stitch"!!! I hope you like it :) If you could leave a comment to let me know you WOULD like your name added to the chance to win this ornament that would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to offend anyone by pulling their name if they are not interested in the ornament :) I'll draw a name on Monday from those that participated :)

I'll miss you guys tonight-but I'll be thinking of you as I paint faces on all the ornaments and IF I get finished before midnight I will put in a few stitches with you :) Thanks for your interest in this group- it's so GREAT to be up and running again :)

ALL of your progress pics have been so great! Keep up the good work-I look forward to seeing this week's SAT progresses :)

hugs and love to you :)

I had to run a couple of errands after work, then cooked dinner, so didn’t start until 7:00.  I’m working on the NovaLee Christmas Noel SAL, using DMC on Vikki Clayton’s 36ct linen in off white.  I had finished part one and some of two before last night.  I finished two, and started on three when I realized at about11:30 my count is off … I forgot to put on my little Frog Inhibitor before I started … and will have to do some frogging, so I stopped.  That’s probably what I’ll be doing in a short while.

This is my before pic of my Heaven's Gate sampler by Hester's Needle. I'm not sure if I'll be stitching at the same time as you because of the time zone but it's Friday evening here. I love the ornament so won't be offended if it comes my way :o)

It's Sunday evening so hope I'm in time to post, I'm not sure of the time difference. This is my after photo, for the first time in months dh didn't go out Friday evening so I didn't get in as many hrs as I wished but I managed to finishe the stag, a little more of the right hand side border and most of the flower and tub.

This is my before picture. I have to be to work Sat @ 7:00am (grown) so I can't stay up. I probably not make a lot of progress but some is better than none. Right??

Well there will be no progress tonight. If you look at the green line between the numbers and the first Quaker it is 3 stitches to far to the right so is the motif. This mean a visit from Mr Froggie and I don't fell like it tonight. So I'll stitch on an exchange. Boo Hoo

Your Stitching!!

Just wanted to leave you all a little note. Your stitching from Friday night looks great. After 10-16 SAT

Yeah! I finished up LHN's Pumpkins last night. I used the Crescent Colours that came with the chart and some fabric from my stash. It is, I think, a 14 ct Aida that is sort of a French vanilla color with some sheen to it. The sun was out for the first time in a week so my mini pumpkin made a shadow. I never seem to get in the full 6 hours of stitching. I think I managed about 4 last night. That doesn't look like much for 4 hours, but I'll take my happy dance any way I can get it!

Before & After Pictures

Hi Everyeone,

As you can see, I decided to start a new project, as I have startis.  This is Something Wicked

sick kids and a sick DH.  I will definately keep with this project until it is done, because
it is so much fun.

Friday SAT October 17th

Yesterday I joined you all in the SAT. I decided to stitch on Chatelaine, Holland Springtime. I've been neglecting her all summer, last picture was on July 13th.

And this is how she looks now:

10/16 SAT after

Well, I didn't make it to midnight, but I'm still pleased with my progress for the evening. While stitching tonight I noticed an error on the top two pine cones--I decided to leave the error and repeated it on the bottom pine cones. I'll do the same thing on the other side. The extra stitch didn't change the overall dimensions of the element, and since I was stitching the first two of those pine cones last weekend in the middle of the Kisatchie National Forest I think it's only right that those pine cones be made to look even more natural!

Now I've got to put this piece away until next Friday. Tomorrow I'll be back stitching on an ornament I need to finish to bring to Sr. Dulce for her tree. It's a freebie dolphin pattern that I'm stitching as an Assisi-style ornament.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's progress from this evening. Please don't feel obligated to leave a comment here--use that time to stitch instead!

And until we 'see' each other next Friday night, keep stitching!

Thanks for stitching with me tonight-I am gonna go play in my stash for awhile :)
Looking forward to seeing your pics :)

Sorry for my CRUMMY pic-this does not photograph well at all-but is gorgeous IRL :) :) :)

Before SAT 10-16

I'm planning to join the stitching fun tomorrow night. I haven't decided which of these I will work on just yet. I'm leaning toward LHN Pumpkins because all it needs is the border. If get tired of the border, I will work on poor, neglected Beatrix Potter. She hasn't had much attention lately. Hope everyone has had a good week and is ready to stitch up a storm!

Friday 10/9 after

Here's the "After" shot of my work on Sampler Bonheur. I didn't get as much done as I had hoped to--I had 2 RRs arrive just before I left town and so I took them with me to stitch so that I can mail them out tomorrow. Last night I discovered that there's an error that might have to be frogged, but I'm going to wait until I finish this section before I make the change. If it doesn't look too bad--well, I'll leave it and just make the same error on the other sides so that it stays symmetrical.

I'll be keeping this as my Friday night stitch until it's finished, so you'll be seeing it for the rest of the year

See you on Friday night!

I have been stitching

on Fridays but they have been RRs and exchanges so i can't share pics. Seems like that is all I have been doing for 2 months. I do not think I can join in on the 16th as I will be heading for Myrtle Beach. I have 4 more Christmas ornament exchanges and 1 RR and then I am back to my regular stitching and posting progress pics again. I do like this blog and want to stay a member. As for not posting comments. I do not have a fast internet server. It is better than dial up but slower than cable and it would take me a long time to comment to all of them. Sometimes I post a new post to say that it is great how everyone has been stitching. I check in here all the time and do see what everyone is stitching on.

Sat 10/16/09

I will be stitching Friday night even though I will be RV'ing with my husband. We are heading to Lancaster!!!!! I'm taking a class on Saturday at the Stitching Jubilee and shopping. Then my husband and I are heading out just investigating the area.

I will be stitching on my EGA project, Drawn Thread, for which I will be stitching and teaching next month.

I also will have my knitting with me to do while traveling. At least with knitting, I won't keep stabbing my self with my needle.

After 10-2 SAT

Here is the finish of the witch from the Trick or Treat Trio in the 2008 JC Halloween issue. She is stitched on some fabric from my stash that has some purple mottling, count unknown, probably 28, with most of the recommended colors, but a few changes. I did finish her last Friday night, but she will eventually become a hanging ornament, a gift for a friend who got me tickets for "Wicked." I had such a busy weekend and was fighting a bug that just would not let go of me. About Wednesday or Thursday I realized I had never done my after post. I guess that is what happens when you haven't participated for a while, you get out of the habit. Since I could not stitch last night, 10-9, I decided to do my post today for last Friday. It seems that there are just a few of us participating on Friday nights, but maybe more people are stitching than posting. It would be fun to see what everyone is working on whether you stitch on Friday evenings or not. Enjoy your stitching time!

October 9 SAT

I'm leaving town in the morning, heading up to Zwolle, Louisiana for my husband's family reunion and the Zwolle Tamale Fiesta. (http://www.zwollela.net/tamale.asp)

We've rented a cabin in the North Toledo Bend State Park and I'm bringing 1 book (Mansfield Park) and 1 piece of stitching (Sampler Bonheur) with me. Hopefully I'll make plenty of progress on both!

Here's my before on Sampler Bonheur. It will be Monday before I get my after posted.

I hope you all have a good stitching weekend!

I stitched the latest installment of Zentangle, a piece I'm stitching as part of the German Marquoir Group on Yahoo. Below are my before-and-after pictures:

Photos are posted with the permission of the designers, who graciously gave the design to the group to be distributed to members participating in the SAL as a freebie.

There are 2 more parts to the design, so I should be finishing it up as next Friday's SAL!

Joining Tonight's SAT

I will be working on these pieces tonight. The headless witch is from Just Cross Stitch's 2008 Halloween issue. The other is from Little House Needleworks. Pumpkins just needs the border to be finished.

I hope everyone is getting back into a regular stitching schedule after the summer and look forward to future updates. Happy Stitching!

Zentangle

I've started a new project--ZENTANGLE--that I am stitching as part of the German Marquoir Yahoo group. I didn't join the group until this project was about to end so I'm stitching furiously to finish the piece before it ends and I'm left with an unfinished project! It's a 10 part project, I've stitched part one and I'm currently working on part 2.

Here's my before picture, posted with the permission of the German Marquoir group:

I'm stitching this on 35 count undyed linen from Vikki Clayton, which is whiter than it's showing up here. (I took the photo on a dark surface!) The floss is a special combo I had Vikki Clayton dye for me last year that I call Mardi Gras Mambo.

MIA for Too Long

Where has the summer gone? I have mostly stitched on Beatrix Potter. I keep plugging away, but I don't think she will be finished this year!

A sweet friend gave me this LHN chart along with the pretty green fabric and the Crescent Colours for my birthday. So I just had to have a birthday new start!

This ornament came from the Gift of Stitching last year. I completed the stitching back in January, I think. I just did the finishing this morning. I like the easy finish and will use it on other things.

I borrowed the LHN chart from a friend and completed the stitching last month. I am wanting to do a cube finish on it.

I have not been able to stitch on Friday nights for nearly 2 months. It has been a strange summer with time slipping past. I have stitched some, but not as much as I would like. This update is just to show that I'm still around. I have kept up with looking at everyone's posts and hopefully the change of seasons will rev all of us up! I am going on a 2 week vacation next Friday, but look out come October. I hope to be back on a weekly basis! Happy Labor Day!

Dancing Away...

While I have been on and off stitching away, I have not however, posted on this blog for a while. Nearly a year ago, I wrote that I was joining in the Friday SAL. The project I was stitching on then is the same project I'm posting about now. Finally, after more than a year, Queen of A Needle is done.

Happy and excited describe my feelings exactly. Or maybe ecstatic is the word? Please join in and celebrate with me. More details and pictures are on my blog.

Labor Day Weekend stitching

If it's Friday, it's Mansfield Park! (with apologies to NBC and Meet the Press). I really didn't make much progress on this one this week so I'm devoting the entire weekend to stitching on this one piece. I've got a real itch to 'get something finished' so I've got to set all my WIPs aside and concentrate on one project--and this is it! (It's also my oldest WIP that's in the current work pile, so it's a natural to be the focus piece.)

Here's the very crummy before photo. I promise to iron before I take the 'after' photo!

SAT 8/28/09

Well, I stitched on Friday night just not on the project I thought I would. I received some new stash during the week and instead of working on my pinkeep to I was seduced to start a new project.

I started working on Softly Walk by La-D-Da. i got off my counting a little bit and had to a decision on how much I would frog. I decided to just from the rose and make the adjustments there. I did that and managed to get the rose restitched. So................. here is my progress thus far:

Well, I didn't get much done on Mansfield Park, mostly because I spent my time getting started on Sampler Bonheur 2009 from the Brodyzen Creations blog. No before photo on that one since there was nothing before!

It's Mansfield Park, again

Well, I didn't get much stitching done this week, so I'm not at all where I hoped to be at this point. I seriously doubt that I'll be able to finish up this band this weekend, so my Labor Day deadline is looking like a long shot at this point.

But I'll be stitching away tonight on Mansfield Park while the DH is off playing tennis with an old friend from high school. Here's my before photo (sorry about the wrinkles--I'll press it again after I stitch on it tonight):

I've got other stitching I'll be working on this weekend--a RR (Carriage House Samplings Friendship Sampler) and Sampler Bonheur (Brodyzen's blog), so it's going to be a very busy stitching weekend for me!

Ann's Mansfield Park update

Well, I've finished another band on Mansfield Park, which means I'm almost finished with the first page--I'm just a little under halfway finished with the project.

The next 5 rows are almost all lettering, so they should go pretty quickly. If everything works out I hope to have them finished before the end of the weekend. Then it's on to the final sections, which will be more time consuming because they are very heavily stitched!

It's Mansfield Park tonight...

...and every night until it's finished!

I'll be stitching on my current 'focus project' tonight--Mansfield Park, by The Sampler Girl. I'm stitching it using the DMC conversion, 2 over 2, on 35 count undyed linen from Vikki Clayton.

This is my focus project now--the only thing I'm stitching--and my goal is to finish it before the end of the Labor Day weekend holiday! (September 7, for those of you not in the States)

SAT Tonight

After quite a break, I will be joining in the Stitch A Thon tonight, once again working on LHN's Little House Neighbourhood. I am hoping to get it finished by the end of the month. The picture to the left is where I was at last Friday. Since then I have done the bodies of the crows and finished the lambs. I will be working on the house on the left tonight.

Sun Flower Inn

Hello! Here is the progress I made on Sun Flower Inn on over the last week when we were on vacation. The houses always take me so long to do but they are great to stitch when stitching with someone (like I was with my Mom) because once you get the frame there's not too much counting involved...hence no frog visits :-) I'm looking forward to getting to the sun flower sections.

Everyone's pieces are looking great! Looking forward to the fall and being able to join in on the SAT on Friday nights again. Have a good week!

A Sunday Finish

After letting this sit to the side, unfinished, and trying to decide on the personalization I'm happy to report that Petites Lettres Rouges (the freebie from the Blackbird Designs blog) was finished on Sunday! Now I'm going to concentrate on my Mansfield Park sampler (from The Sampler Girl) until it's finished, or until I go out of town for the Labor Day weekend. I already know that I'll be taking It's Berry Time from Blackbird Designs on the trip--it's just easier to travel with a monochrome!

Have a great stitching week, everyone!

Well, like others, I've not had a lot of Friday night stitching time this summer. Accordingly, I haven't posted in a while, but I have enjoyed seeing everyone else's projects.

I did actually manage to get in a little bit of stitching time last night. I pulled out my Taj Mahal Mandala Garden from Chatelaine Designs and worked on it for a bit. Here are my before & after photos showing what I accomplished (click to enlarge):

Some updates :)

Here's what I've been up to lately. No Friday SAT's because of summer, that means lazy evenings outside. Mary Wigham, I bet you all want to know how far she is. Well, I've done not too much, because I can only stitch on her in daylight, in spite of my Ott-lamp. I stitch her on 40 count, and my eyes... well, it's my age I suppose LOL.

Another one I'm working at is The Plantation Sampler. I only have a little progress, but nevertheless, here it is.

For the next two weeks we are on vacation to France, so no updates from me :)

Joanie R June and July

Found 2 pictures not posted...here they are...monthly ornaments...June and July.

Joanie R.

What Joanie R has been up to

I've been working on so many projects, not concentrating on anything. I'm doing an over one saying on a wedding sampler...can't show it...she looks at this blog.

I'm still working on my son's wedding sampler, even though he went to the justice of the peace in Georgia and got married on July4th....at least they should never forget the date. Not a whole lot of change since the last picture shown.

I'm working on my mini monthly ornaments...will try to get some picture together to show those.

I'm working on my advent numbers from Ellen Maurer Stroh....made a huge mistake, have to frog about 1/3 of it!!!

I'm crocheting a baby blanket for my grandson, not very interesting, more boring than anything else. In blue, green, yellow, and a multi white with specks of blue, green, yellow and pink. Was not going to put any pink in it.

Just started a new picture....a cat's face up real close...have only a dozen or so stitches in it. Not enough to show!

So, I have been busy, just not showable busy at this point.

Another 2009 Cross Stitch Calendar Finish

I just finished this last night. It took about 5 days to do. It from the 2009 Cross Stitch Page-a-day Calendar. I know I picked one that is ahead in the calendar, but this one just look too fun now to do early.

Thursday, July 16, 2009

As of Saturday July 11

Well I've made some progress on my Mary Wigham since I last posted in June.

DH made a floor stand for me which has helped a lot. Now I can stitch two handed. I'm not faster but it is less stress on my arms.

This has become my favorite project..warts and all.. I can't imagine how many mistakes I would have made at age 9 when MW started this but I know how many I've had to take out at age 68. Things just don't see to change with time. LOL
Happy Stitching

Here is what I worked on over last week.

Friday night progress

Here's my progress on "Mansfield Park" from The Sampler Girl. I managed to get the three rows of water under the small ship stitched, and I've started on the larger ship. I'm stitching this on some undyed linen from Vikki Clayton using the DMC conversion listed on the chart. Sorry the picture is so lousy--it's too early in the day to have decent lighting in my house. (The color in my before photo is very accurate.)

I've decided to keep this project as something that I stitch on only on Friday night until it's finished since it's part of my 'Everything Austen' challenge list and because soon I'll be starting my Christmas gift stitching and I'm afraid that once I start gift stitching I'll forget to stitch on anything that's just for me!

Here's my 'before'

I'll be working on Mansfield Park, from The Sampler Girl. It's also one of my challenges for the 'Everything Austen' challenge that's being hosted on Stephanie's blog.

I hope you all have a wonderful 4th of July tomorrow! If you're looking for a precious freebie with a patriotic flavor to stitch tomorrow, check out Aury's blog for a Quaker-style stars-and-stripes heart. It's what I'll be stitching tomorrow!

July 3rd SAT

Ok, found my pictures quickly, so here is the before picture....showing 2, because it has been so long.....
Sorry for the wrinkles, I had it packed away for a trip and then we didn't go. But, you can see i've added the areas with the small alphabet and finished some of the missing parts on the top area. Oh, I just realized the house has a roof now too!

This is my project tonight and possibly tomorrow too if my plans work out. We are going to be home alone for the 4th, and I broke my vacuum cleaner (darn, darn, darn, right?).

So, everyone have a good night and a great day tomorrow.

What I've been working on and what tonight!

Hi all..been a little while since I posted. Here are pictures of what I have started and finished in the last couple of weeks.

They are all designs by Tonia Pappan of Oakhaven Designs. The Spring, Summer,Autumn and Winter are charts that were given to us when we participated in the online chats at her site. The April and May ornaments are part of a Monthly SAL...i'm now ready to start June.

I have to find the pictures of the project i'm working on tonight. I'll post them after i find them.

She Sells Seashells Update

Hello! Here's a quick picture update of She Sells Seashells. I am SO close to being finished...but another new project is calling my name tonight and since it's of a patriotic nature and the 4th of July is upon us I think I'm going to work on that tonight...

Happy stitching! Meredith

change in plans...

Instead of working on The Summer Ball, I ended up starting this little freebie from the Blackbird Designs blog:

My husband was playing tennis this weekend and so this was the perfect project to carry with me to the club so that I could stitch while waiting for him to play. I still have a little bit to finish, so I'll stitch that tonight.

Fidays SAT

I started this June 19th and never got around to posting it here. All I had done was a couple of stitches though and then Friday night I finished it. JN Kari's Snowflake

Friday 06/19 to Sat 06/20 Progress

I joined the Mary Wigham Ackworth Sampler SAL this is my Friday’s before picture.

I stitched Friday night and most of Saturday before I took this picture. I’m using the listed DMC threads on Zweigart 32 count Flax. This has been a real joy to stitch.

Weekend update

Well, I didn't quite finish 'Bless Our Home' and here's why:

3 new starts!

'Souvenir de France' from the Blackbird Designs blog, 'Beneath the Sunlit Sky' from Blackbird Designs, and 'The Summer Ball' by Sandy Littlejohn. I'll finish 'Bless Our Home' today--all I need to finish is to stitch the pink accents in the top border and to sign it.

You can read about my other new starts on my blog.

SAT June 19th (and weekend)

Hi all,

we had a wonderful weekend with my DD's and their friends and my brother and his family. It's been midsummer weekend here in Finland and all of us spent it at my brothers summerplace. The weather wasn't that warm, but we had fun :D
I started stitching Newton's Law's "Keep calm at all times" on Thursday (in a SAT we have in a Finnish stitching group) and continued on/off all weekend - not many hours of stitching, but I did get some progress :D
First my before (after Thu-SAT) and then where I am at the moment;

Happy stitching everyone :D

Mia

ps. I did stitch week ago Friday, got a few stitches to my Moon Fairy :D Our digicam is out of order so I haven't had a chance to take a pic of it. Hope to have a pic of it some time soon.

Friday 6/19 before

I'm determined to finish CCN's "Bless Our Home" tonight. As you can see, I've made a few changes from the way the design was originally charted. Here's my before photo:

In addition to finishing the top border I'm going to rip out the pink stitching on the door and change it to white. The pink trim worked with the original colors of the design, but not with mine.

Happy stitching, everyone!

last words

I have finished up Boo Club. It was LK's and done on 32 ct. dirty linen with the charted threads. It is a model so I am sending it off to the store.

Sorry I'm so late posting my progress...

I got some stitching done Friday. Here's my progress on Bless Our Home. You'll notice that I have made quite a few changes from the way the design was charted. I've made the design reflect our home colorwise, stitched in our favorite cat, and changed to flag to represent the flag that flew over Louisiana during her brief period as an independent republic:

And this is the latest heart I needed to stitch on the Friendship Sampler RR that I'm participating in:

See you all on Friday!

Exchange Piece I Made

This is my first real experience stitching on evenweave. A little frustrating at first but it became a lot of fun. (Now I definitely prefer evenweave to aida.) It is "Fulfill My Joy" by Jeremiah Junction and was in the August 2000 issue of Cross Country Stitching.

Stitching from 6-12

Life has gotten most of my attention in the last couple of weeks and I haven't stitched at all...until last night. I had actually put in a few more stitches, but didn't take the time to take a picture last night. We had terrible storms roll through here just about 5:00 pm and many are still without power this morning. I was lucky enough to have electricity so I worked on Beatrix.

Not a ton of progress, but I'm just happy that I could put in some stitches. Maybe I'll get to work on her some more today. Well, after I go out and collect the gajillon sticks and stuff littering the yard!

Ode to the Red House two squares too far to the right

My fingers were flying I thought I was fine

That's when I noticed something amiss with the line

The stitches were even, the colour divine

Yet something was wrong still with my design

Oh no thought I, it can't be, what to do?

My time is so short, my free moments so few

My babes need feeding, bathing and more

The paperwork glares at me there through the door

What a waste, what to do?

Will anyone notice if I just fudge a few?

Yes, I will notice it, for sure most true

Now my language turns the air blue.

So tonight my dear friends I join in the group

My scissors in hand to make right my kafloop

Poop.

Count me in!

I'll be stitching tomorrow night, also. First I have to finish 2 RR pieces (Friendship Sampler by Carriage House Samplings)--on one I only need to stitch my name, city and state, and the date. On the other I need to stitch my heart, along with the name, etc.

If I finish the RR stitching I'll be back stitching on 'Bless Our House' from Little House Needleworks. I need to stitch the lettering and both borders still.

Sorry the photo is so lousy--it's late at night, and so the lighting just isn't that good. Still, you get the idea.

Happy stitching, everyone!
